Canadian Heroes Racing and Trevellin Motorsports

Canadian Heroes Racing Team
Media Announcement - For Immediate Release

Released: 29 July 2013 -0900 hours

Canadian Heroes Racing Team is pleased to announce that Kevin Trevellin has accepted the opportunity to pilot the 45 Canadian Heroes Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup series car. Kevin has over 20 years of designing and fabricating race cars in various classes. Included in that 20 years is work in the pits assisting crews at various tracks and Kevin brings 20 years of driving experience as well. Kevin has driving experience starting from super stock to CASCAR (now Lucas Oil) and is a qualified NASCAR driver. We are confident that this experience in driving, designing and fabrication will lead the Canadian Heroes Racing Team to a strong finish this year. Canadian Heroes Racing welcomes Kevin for joining us but we also would like to welcome the rest of the crew that will accompany Kevin on this journey.

Crew Chief Ian Holden has been with Kevin during most of his driving and fabrication. Ian’s wealth of experience in racing as a Crew Chief truly adds to the balance of the team that has accepted the challenge to be a part of the team.

Brad Prevett will be assisting Ian in the pits with the mechanics of the car and focusing on the tires for the race. Brad as the other new members has been with Kevin for a number of years complementing the crew and bringing their skills to the tracks for Canadian Heroes now.

Chuck Greaves Jr. joins the Canadian Heroes Crew as Kevin’s spotter during the race. As with the rest of the team, Chuck has been with Kevin providing him with the “eyes from above” for many years advising Kevin of the car locations and any hazards (flags e.g. yellow) that may occur on the track. Chuck will be responsible as well for communicating to Kevin his position on any restarts as advised by the LOSC officials.

Canadian Heroes Racing is proud to welcome this group of dedicated Canadians to pilot, service and maintain the 45 Canadian Heroes Racing car. We look forward to a great finish to the year.

Canadian Heroes is an organization of military personnel (retired, veterans and serving) along with patriotic citizens that believe “Freedom is never Free”. The Canadian Heroes 45 Lucas Oil Sportsman’s Cup is a memorial car that races in the memory of one of Canada’s fallen heroes each race. The hood of the car is presented to the family of the fallen hero immediately following the races. The next race for the 45 car is 10 August 2013 at Peterborough Speedway, Peterborough Ontario where Corporal Mark Robert McLaren (1 Royal Canadian Regiment) will be remembered. Corporal McLaren was born 07 September 1985 and was killed in action 05 December 2008. Corporal McLaren received the Military Medal of Valour (MMV) for his bravery in action during his tours in Afghanistan.

Approved for release by Ray Keeso, Canadian Heroes Racing Team National Manager. 28 July 2013. Please direct any questions regarding the release to Mr. Keeso via email ray@canadianheroes.com

Happy Holidays!

Just a quick post before the holidays finally arrive. We continue to work at securing a sponsor, even when the snow is falling (not much has fallen yet here in Windsor though). A few irons in the fire but nothing very interesting to report there. Kevin has the new clip welded onto the car we bent at Delaware and he's currently finishing up a few loose ends before it goes out for paint/powder coat, likely in the New Year.

Speaking of New Year, we're looking forward to securing some level of sponsorship so that we can compete in at least one series whether it be LOSC, NCATS, or ..... Cross your fingers!!!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We made the latest edition of Biz X Magazine. Check out page 18 at the following link. The picture is from the Numantis grand opening weekend.

As you can see, we strive to expose our marketing partners in as many arenas as possible. We're still looking for a partner for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series or even the ARCA RE/MAX Series. If you're interested in discussing these opportunities, drop us a line. You owe it to yourself to have a look.

On another note, those of you out there in Facebook land can look for Kevin there, just send him a request.

Higher res pics of the front end

Just a quick note for all you loyal visitors, to post the pictures I said I would get of the front end of the car.

Since the time those pictures were taken, we've decided to re-clip the car. The rear mounts were not jiving with the jig at all so something else has moved/changed as well. Putting an entire clip on the car will allow us to put it back where it needs to be more accurately and allow Kevin to make changes to some of the fabricating (the previous clip was the first one he built and had approved by CASCAR).

Fall Out from Delaware

In my Delaware summary a couple of weeks ago, I reported that the car took a big hit on the inside wall of the front stretch, ending the night for us. At the time it looked like the car would be OK from the spring pockets back but after striping the car and trying to re-jig it, it will need a little more work.

Kevin had to cut out the cross-member along with the front lower a-arm mounts. While it wasn't bent into a pretzel, the mounts were off enough that it would have been a different car. Had we more races to run, it may have worked the way it was, but since it's the off season for us we'll put it back to where it was and know what we have. Higher res shots are now located further up.

After a three event LOSC season, we need to thank the people that helped get us to the track. To Moes Mechanical (519-792-3734) for coming on board for some tires and shop use, L.A. Collision for car paint and related help and Leitch Performance Engines for helping us stay in the game. As well, we'd like to thank the Robblee's again for the good used tires they gave us for Delaware, much appreciated and you are a great representation of the teams out there.

Brad has also been a tremendous help to Kevin this year and just happens to be a great 'kid' (I can call him that because he's younger than me). Nic and Korey helped out when time permitted, Joey McColm also lent a hand as spotter when he could, which is appreciated, and Fleetham sports photography for taking some shots @ Mosport.

The results may not show it to everyone, but we feel it was an excellent year for this 'shoestring' operation. The car did what we wanted when adjustments were made and proved to be very competitive. With some additional resources, we're confident it's a top 5 car. Let's hope we can attend more races in the ???? series next year. ;)

Thanks for taking the time to read the Trevellin Motorsports Blog, we'll try to throw some tidbits of info in here during the off season so be sure to keep an eye on it. GO FAST, TURN LEFT!
